Frequently asked questions

What is Global Metro Status?
Global Metro Status is a real-time public transport tracker covering cities worldwide, showing live bus, train, tram and ferry positions and delays.
How often is UK train data updated?
UK National Rail data is streamed live from Network Rail TRUST train movement feeds. Your browser polls for updates every three seconds while you view a page.
Which UK regions are covered?
We cover all National Rail regions across England, Scotland and Wales, with live station boards for thousands of UK railway stations.
Where does UK rail data come from?
UK train times and delay data come from official Network Rail open data feeds, including TRAIN_MVT_ALL_TOC real-time movements and CORPUS station reference data.
What do delays mean on the live board?
Delays are calculated from timetable variation in the official feed. A positive number means the train is running late; early running may also be shown when reported.
